Lewiston Ultra Events Presents
Moose Mountain Trail Races
Moose Mountain Trail Races is a historical 16KM, 29KM, 42KM, & 50KM solo mountain trail race in the stunning Kananaskis, Alberta.

We acknowledge with respect and gratitude that Moose Mountain Trail Races takes place on the traditional territories of the Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika Nations of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Niitsitapi), Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda), Tsuut’ina as well as the Otipemisiwak (Métis Nation) of Alberta, Region 3. These lands have been cared for and traveled by Indigenous peoples for millennia, carrying deep cultural, spiritual, and ecological significance.
We honor the enduring stewardship and connection Indigenous communities have with these lands. As we run the trails of Moose Mountain, the most sacred and important land area to the Tsuut'ina, we do so with a commitment to protecting and respecting these natural spaces, inspired by the knowledge and traditions of those who have walked here before us.
Thank you to the Indigenous communities whose wisdom continues to guide our efforts to sustain and cherish these trails. May our footsteps honor the beauty and history of these lands and remind us of our shared responsibility to preserve them for future generations.
Hiy hiy, thank you. It is a privilege.
Moose Mountain Trail Races, hosted by Lewiston Ultra Events, is a celebration of community and grassroots trail running. As the oldest trail event in Alberta and one of the longest-standing events in Western Canada, it has been a cherished part of the run community for over 30 years. We are truly honoured to carry on the rich history of Moose Mountain Trail Races, continuing to host in an extraordinary community that comes together to cheer you on through a stunning trail system and a memorable finish line.
The race starts and finishes at the West Bragg Creek recreational area, which rises from the rolling prairies into the foothills and boasts over 150KM of community-built trails. This spectacular terrain takes runners on an unforgettable adventure along forested single and double-track trails, with the 8,000 foot Moose Mountain, the highest peak in the range, standing proudly in the background.

Moose Mountain Trail Races gives back to Bragg Creek Trail Association, Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society, Search & Rescue, Scouts Alberta & other community/volunteer organizations and shareholders.
